Training has picked up a bunch for me. I am not able to go outside and run as much, it feels too cold here now as well. My work gym is always there waiting for me though :-) I haven't been watching my diet as closely as I should be, but my cardio endurance feels good and getting better. I could also use some weight training, I've been slacking on that a bunch!

Thx for your comment! 18 holes of golf isn't much of a workout when you ride in a cart and are drinking those frosty adult beverages... but sure beats sitting indoors only moving my fingers on the computer all day!

This is the first time I've posted on my own page, but I just really wanted to vent about the fact that we ONLY have 3 workout entry options. Today I walked on the treadmill at an incline for 45 minutes, cycled on the stationary bike for 10 minutes, ran for over 30 minutes, Did elliptical for another 35 minutes AND stregth trained for 45 minutes. So...then I have to go and figure how to input all that in ONLY 3 categories!!! boo....Okay, I feel better now... LOL

I think you caught them mid-design change on the traineo site! I see some layout changes here too and the most recent comments are at the top of the page. That's very cool! It also looks like they might be in the middle of changing the old way of "My Page" versus "My traineo home" to make it less confusing on us users!

Haha, you plan to be a hottie? You're already there if you ask me, lol. But damn, cardio every day? How'd you force yourself to do it? I do it 3 times a week now and I feel like I have to force myself. I suppose that if I did it every day, I'd see better results though. I'm also trying to get hot for the summer. Beach time :D

Thanks for stopping by my page and leaving those kind words and encouragement! It was a cool but sunny 30 degrees for the race and I was able to run the 5k without stopping (my goal!) and finished in just over 30 minutes. I felt pretty good and I think I could have gone faster. I need to find another race to help keep me motivated -- your encouragement helps too so thanks!!!

I think even though I am kickin my butt, I might have gained a pound. ARg. How frustrating! Our bodies must be in sych. And get this, I went to the gym today, ran one mile at 6.2- which ended up being 944 then I ran another mile at 6.2 (until the last .15 then it went to 6.5, at 0.05 left I ramped it to 7.0- so I ran two miles in ... 1934! I was pretty excited. The first mile was good, then I said, okay go to 1.5 miles and then I can slow down to 6.0- but then I knew once I got there I would tell myself to keep going- and to my surprise I actually did! YAH! I was happy. Then I hit weights, abs and then the sauna (for 20 minutes- felt SO good!). Hope tomorrow yields a better day for both of us weight wise. LOVE YOU and thanks for being such a great inspiration!

Hi Ashley - I'm very excited to hear you are in the Jingle Bell 5K run!

I too gained a couple pounds over the last day but not getting down about it. Some say there can be a delayed effect on what we eat until it becomes real weight. I know I had a bad diet day on Sunday, had some processed carbs (pitas) and beer at a football tailgate. I wonder though since I did not see the pounds until today if it really is that or not. I did have some salty pistachios last night before bed and a fair amount of water so I wonder if it's just that.

In any case, I'm hitting the gym hard today! There's no giving up on this! Plus here's a new one for me: Wearing my work pants today, I had the "ability" to go in one more notch on my belt! It was a little tight, but I could do it! So I know my waist line is starting to shrink despite whatever that number says on the scale.

I really appreciate reading your blog because it is so upbeat and positive. It helps motivate me!

Okay, I just want to tell you THANK YOU.

So I went home "for lunch" today at 2 ... ate, and then took a four h nap (!). whoops. Well by then it was 730 and I was meeting a student at 9 to help him interpret some spectra. So I saw that you wrote on my page, read it, then saw what John wrote, so I decided to read it, too. (I mean it has been a LONG time since I read it- sorry). So I was at the one about you lugging your kids to the gym, and I really wanted to read it... but decided man if she can, I can too. That would be two days in a row so ... here I go, call my student, tell him 930 instead of 9 and off I went. Row machine for 30 minutes, stair stepper for 10 minutes, then I took your advice with the incline thing (I tried running, and my legs were killing me!), so I went at 10 incline at speed 3.5 for ten minutes (I wish there were more than 3 workouts on this thing - I had to fudge it so I got the right number of calories. ha). Then I did weights for 10 minutes. I felt really good. Seriously, and I contribute it to you and JOHN! Thanks John W. And my gosh, I read from old to new blogs, and the last blog you wrote about me! Sniffle. Thanks. And my gosh I am so proud of your mile!!! WAY TO GO, BABE!

Okay, babe. I don't know how you can do the raw food diet (basically what you are doing). I need my sweets and stuff. Weird thing though, I had about 1000 calories before working out (only 17 points WW and then I shaved off 10 points working out, and thought I should eat more)... so then I had 800 calories in one sitting. Not good, but healthy choices... does that even make sense, I am not sure. Ha. MISS YOU LOVE.

Oh my gosh, I am so proud of you!! ONE MORE POUND gone. And one more pound you have hitten another benchmark! I loved getting back into the one sixties. I am feeling good today. Lighter. HA. I would love to do a 5K but that w/e is right before finals, so it would be a no go... maybe try for another time or something like that?! I really want to do one! I ran one mile in 9.36 yesterday... and it was AFTER I did all of my other stuff. WEIRD!

So I have a story I need to vent.

I will have to try that TAB drink. WHere do you work out again? And are you moving or what is the deal with that?

Thanks babe. It was kinda like this... I pulled an allnighter the other night and so I was up for 26 h so when I got home I was too tired to even eat! and oddly enough I wasn't even hungry. So I slept from 8p-10a. It was nice. Then I went to WW... and here is what happened...

so I got there and I was feeling pumped cuz I hadn't gone since I redevoted myself to weight loss (instead of just trying to maintain)- which was the 14th. or 12th (can't remember). so I get there feeling amazing about myself (cuz I weighed myself this morning and actually got back below 170!! YAH! So yeah my goal at WW is 168 so I can go up to 170 w/o having to pay. So I said, I don't know if I will have to pay... and this is what the B said:

"looking at your booklet, the probablility that you lost seven pounds is highly unlikely".

I said, it has been two weeks (or three is what I said), and it's five because I can be at 170 w.o paying. And she said, well do you think you're close? I said confidently, yes, I think it'll be close. So I stepped on the scale and I was 170.2. (My weight chart is w my scale at home- more convienent). And this is what she said condesendingly... "oh, so close... maybe next time". I tried to kill her with kindess (something you are good at)... and said well, that's okay, I will pay, I did lose 4.8 since I was here last. And she said timidly, yeah. Okay, so I have weighed in before at that weight and they are not supposed to charge you. I mean I could have taken off my socks and peed and would have been at the right weight. and THAT is why they aren't supposed to charge you. I was so mad. That was so discouraging. Never have I had that kind of treatment at WW before. Usually anyone who has been overweight LOVES a loss for someone else. But the funny thing is this person- well lets just say to work there you have to be at your goal and well she seemed to be not.

HE'S ONE !!!! YAH!

And you are sooooooooooo close to the 150s! I am jealous! But sooooooo proud of you. You have worked so hard. Post your blog site again. Maybe on your comment board so I can have easy access! lol

Did you try the stairstepper yet? My w/e was eeeeeeeeeeh. I pulled an allnighter on Saturday night and was here until 11 am. It was crazy. So yeah, I think I have gained this week :(. I am just really frustrated with research. ARG!

Yes, I have used the stairstepper. You can set it so it goes really slow so you don't have to work as hard. Just put in on level 1 or something like that and then work from there. It is a really really good workout and your legs will hurt afterwards. I really like the row machine, though. Your butt hurts afterwards. No, but... re-try the stairstepper. Just go slowly... you'll be fine!! I really need to work out... have not found the time. Tomorrow will be a day off, so I will for sure.

Thank you for your message... you are TOO SWEET! I don't even know if I can lose those last pounds though. I have been at this weight for so long (but have been slowly progressing... EXCITING!) My lowest I have been (in my 20s) was 164.8... and I stayed there for like one week and then my body stayed at around 168 for a very long time. So when I get back into the 160s again I am going to be so freakin excited!!! But I was pumped the other day when I saw a number I hadn't seen since July (granted only .5 pounds but... 171.5!) So I am happy about that. And having you do this with me is all the more thrilling. It is like WW but instead of the week to week it is day to day which holds me even MORE accountable. I love this site and it wouldn't be the same without you - thank you for being by my side! My original starting weight was 224. So from my biggest to smallest it was 60 pounds. But the funny thing is I only lost five pounds from September 05 to February 06... so slowly, but...

I think you should be a motivational speaker or something because you just made me feel so amazing!

SO it is you I should thank more!! LOVE YOU!
